EI: Update on the haze situation- 6th August 2009 06-Aug-2009

Colleagues,

You will be aware that the haze situation in the country has worsened, with Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in locations such as Miri and Bintulu already indicating "Unhealthy" levels of above 100 for the last three consecutive days. In these locations, the local Haze Response Committees have already been activated.

As immediate precautionary measures, we advise the following:

- Minimise exposure outdoors and outdoor exercise. This applies especially to children, those with chest or heart problems and senior citizens.
- Use N95 masks if you are required to work outdoors.
- Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration and reduce the chances of infection.
- Seek medical advice early if you or your family member have an existing heart or lung condition. In particular, seek advice on limitation of outdoor activities, the use of masks, and the optimisation of your current medication.
- Check for travel advisory updates before travelling. If you are known to be susceptible to haze, avoid travelling to affected locations. Local hosts in affected areas are encouraged to advise travellers of the local haze conditions.
- Check API daily updates on the web.

The business Haze Response Committees will act according to their respective Haze Response Plans as the situation develops.

The Haze website is being refreshed; its link will be offered on the Shell Malaysia website tomorrow (7th August 2009).

When i first joined HR, i had the same problem as well. People kept comparing my way of working with clement's way of working. And trust me, i had it even more difficult than what you are experiencing now because even one of the OGLT has challenged my way of working. It is always going to be like that: Typical of a human's behaviour, but it is something that you should and you WILL overcome as time goes by. You just need to be more confident out there, and as Johari and I have mentioned to you, you need to be more visible to your colleagues so that they will not be afraid to approach you. Go out there, be a mat kepoh once in a while, talk to them...

sometimes there are also things or favours that you can do for them...like assisting them to get something from HR even if they are supposed to call directly, to help them once in a while it is okay because in return they know they can count on you and maybe then they might open up to you or come to you if they are having any problems. As long as they dont panjat your kepala then it's all good!

Also, never be afraid to ask clement,azlina, johari and even kak roy even if you dont know something. they were the ones who helped me a lot in really understanding what i needed to do and what was expected of me. You will be capable of your job soon , Shereen...dont worry too much..it will be okay soon..

Mari kita sama sama baca Motivasi dari Dr. Fadilah Kamsah, Pakar Motivasi terkenal.

1. Selalu menghargai usaha dan penat-lelah isteri, terutama isteri yang bekerja dan sama-sama terpaksa menanggung hutang
~ SHE - we care we share :P

2. Bila isteri bercakap, pandanglah mukanya dan buka telinga luas-luas. Biar apa yang dikatakannya masuk telinga kanan dan tersumbat di telinga kiri. Sambil tu otak suami kenalah memproses informasi yang diterima daripada isteri dengan bijak serta prihatin.
~ SHE - xdgr aku piat tinge :P(mcm brani keh3)

3. Jangan sekali-kali membandingkan masakan isteri atau cara isteri menghias rumah dengan mak anda, kecuali masakan atau cara menghias si isteri anda lebih baik dan canggih daripada emak anda.
~ SHE - naseb la dia xbyk ragam tang mknn :D

4. Jangan demand sex sekiranya isteri tak ada mood atau letih. Agama suruh kahwin bukan semata-mata untuk penuhi nafsu syahwat saja. I thought wives are only supposed to provide that service, bukannya jaga anak, masak, mencuci dan sebagainya!
~ SHE - xpasal asyik EL or MC je nnt =)) (oopss :)

5. Kalau pasangan dah ada anak, sama-samalah menjaga anak. Benih dari awak juga. Ada suami, isteri sedang makan disuruh cebok kencing dan berak anak sedangkan suami duduk tersandar kekenyangan macam maharaja.
~ SHE - sudah ade improvement ;))

6. Jangan sekali-kali duduk tersandar depan TV atau relax-relax sedangkan isteri bila balik dari kerja, buka saja kasut terus masuk dapur, memasak, mengemas, membasuh, kejar anak dan sebagainya. Berbulu mata dan sayu hati isteri bila kami tak cukup tangan nak menguruskan rumahtangga sedangkan suami lepas tangan.
~ SHE - pon sudah rajin skit skrg..psstt rajin komplen :))

7. Sekiranya suami makan dahulu, tinggalkan sedikit lauk untuk isteri. Jangan bedal semua sampai turn isteri yang tinggal cuma ekor ikan sekerat, janggut sotong dan ekor taugeh. Frust, tau tak!
~ SHE - aku salu pretend xlapa or da mkn & kenyang bile xckup lauk/nasi or xckup uwang :-ss perut aku size S/M je kot...perut dia L/XL...tp dia salu tgglkan wlau skit/pjuk aku mkn gak :D

8. Kalau nak ajak member bertandang ke rumah, beritau isteri dulu, kalau boleh sehari-dua in advance. Jadi bolehlah dia memasak yang best-best dan mengemas rumah cantik-cantik. Bayangkan perasaan isteri kalau tetamu datang terpacak sedangkan kain-baju masih berlonggok belum sempat dilipat, permainan anak masih berselerak dan isteri cuma masak mi maggie saja (bukan soal malas masak tapi nak tolong jimatkanperbelanjaan keluarga)
~ SHE - mmg salu suke las menet...uwaaa malu :((

9. Jangan sekali-kali menyakat isteri tentang saiz badannya yang semakin sihat atau semakin melidi. Tengok body sendiri dalam cermin dulu.
~ SHE - dia suke komen psl dr sdiri je :P takot gemuk & x ensem la tuh :))

10. Jangan kentut depan isteri. Masa bercinta dulu kenapa boleh control kentut?
~ SHE - huh...dr dlu suke kentut...pas kawin aku pun bls la =))
